Dr. Tom Lee is Chief Education Officer for Quanser, a pioneering company that develops modern experiential education platforms for contemporary engineering themes such as mechatronics, autonomous robotics, IoT and AI. He is a 30 year veteran of the technology industry having served in numerous positions that span the technical and business dimensions of an organization. In addition to his work at Quanser, he held senior positions at Maplesoft (advanced mathematical modeling), and Certicom (cryptography that evolved to blockchain technology). He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, and an MASc and BASc in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo. He holds adjunct positions in Systems Design Engineering, University of Waterloo; Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of New Mexico; and Mechanical Engineering, York University.
The intergenerational panel at the WEEF serves as a platform to increase dialog between stakeholders from the academic community, corporate organizations, and students. With the aim of increasing constructive communication across generations, this session sets the stage for intergenerational discussions where all voices are heard, and interactions lead to ideas for initiative and change.
